Tuesday, April 25, 2017                                                           Week I

Did you lose some keys on a Dodger's lanyard in the library before break? If so, please come to the principal's office to retrieve them.
 
There is a senior meeting in the gym if you want to run for prom king and queen, please come.
 
Tonight there is a Taco Bell fundraiser from 5-8pm with a portion of the proceeds going to Safe Grad Night!   They need sign makers and holders on Feather River/Oro Dam.   Please spread the word on social media!  
 
The Unity Club: will be meeting on April 26 Wednesday in the Art room during lunch. We have a lot of planning to do as Diversity Day is less than two weeks away. Those interested in helping need to come to our meeting to sign up.
 
There is an important Interact meeting today at lunch in the band room.
 
Today there is Junior class meeting at lunch in C-2 to discuss important prom issues.
 
SENIORS:  Are you planning on attending Butte in the Fall?  If so, you should consider applying for the Summer Bridge Program at Butte College.  It is a 3 week (12 day) program with transportation and lunch provided each day.  And if you complete the summer program, you will receive a 300 dollar book voucher.  There are flyers available in the counseling office or see you counselor for more information.
Asian Club: We are looking for students who are willing to  reactivating Asian Club.  To help, come into the art room on Wednesday during lunch. All students Remember everyone makes a difference and you are all welcome.
AP TESTING:  On May 2, the AP Spanish Language Exam will be given in room C-4 at 7:45 am. On May 3, the AP English Literature Exam will be given in room Q-6 at 7:45 am.  On May 4, the AP Government Exam will be given in room Q-6 at 7:45 am. On May 5, the AP US History Exam will be given in room Q-6 at 7:45 am.  All students need to bring the following to every exam:  photo ID, #2 pencils, blue or black ink pens.  No cell phones and no electronic devise are allowed.
 
 
FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS:   Wednesday, May 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at Las Plumas High School in the East gym.  Las Plumas and Oroville High Athletic departments are offering free sports physicals which will be valid for the 2017-2018 school year.  All returning students and current 8th grade students are eligible for a physical - both boys and girls.  All students must fill out proper physical forms with PARENT SIGNATURES before receiving their physical.  Forms are available at Las Plumas High School, Oroville High School, or on-line through the Oroville Union High School District website (under athletics).  For more information please contact: Brenda Watts.
   
Graduation is right around the corner.  Have you purchased your senior shirt yet???  If not, they are selling fast!  Stop by the student store today to pick yours up for only $20 for small to XL and $23 2XL & 3XL’s.  I have both ladies and men’s shirts.  Get yours before your size is gone!  Memories last a life time.  

 
Cross Country meets Wednesday, May 17 at 5pm.  We will let you know where the meeting place is tomorrow.

Also for Safe Grad Night each senior should be selling tickets this week for the tri tip dinner.   Ask Castillo for ticket packets.   Each senior should sell a minimum of 5 tickets.   The top 5 sellers will be put into a separate drawing at Safe Grade Night for a laptop.  Tickets are $35 each and you get a 
BBQ tri-tip, 1 lb of old fashioned potato salad, 1 lb of baked beans,  1 dozen fresh baked rolls, 10 gourmet bakery fresh cookies.  You can purchase tickets at A-1 Appliance or call Sarah 693-2707 or Pam at 521-5160.

Attention all football players we will be having a player meeting this Thursday, April 27th at 12:15 in T-5.  If you plan on playing next year you must attend.

Don’t forget the Taco Bell Fundraiser for Safe Grad tonight from 5:00-8:00pm.  
 
Juniors:  If you received paperwork about the UC ELC program, please make sure you return the permission slip to Brenda in the Counseling Office as soon as possible.
